Motion decoys pull predators past that last hesitation point where a coyote hangs up at the edge and tries to wind you — giving a dog something to stare at draws the eyes away and brings it in. The hunters who get the most out of them pair the decoy with a caller placed away from their position, so the predator commits to a lane that gives a clean shot.
