A 1-6x is one of the most versatile magnification ranges you can put on a hunting rifle — enough glass for a deliberate shot at distance and fast enough at 1x for close cover. The BDC reticle calibrated to a specific cartridge is only useful if the cartridge and load match the assumptions baked into it.
