Welcome to Nevada Hunting Services
Nevada Hunting Services is a fully licensed and insured outfitting and guide service located in Reno, Nevada. Master Guide Mitch Bailey has over thirty years of experience hunting in Nevada. He has the knowledge and skills necessary to give you the hunt you have always dreamed of.
We take our clients’ safety seriously. All of our subguides keep and maintain first aid certification. Our subguides are also licensed to guide through the Nevada Department of Wildlife, and each subguide has 20 years or more experience hunting in Nevada.
Nevada Hunting Services is licensed to guide statewide for all game animals, including big game, small game, upland game and waterfowl, as well as fur-bearers and game fish. We hold permits to guide on Nevada’s public lands, including lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and United States Forest Service (USFS). Most notably, we hold one of the highly coveted USFS permits for the Carson-Toiyabe Ranger District which includes the infamous 194/196 mule deer hunt units, as well as hunt units 192, 201, 202, and 204 which comprise the bulk of Nevada’s bear units on USFS lands.
Black Bear Hunts
With draw odds that rival those of bighorn sheep – and some of the largest black bears in the country – this is the bear hunt of a lifetime. Season dates start September 15 and run though December 1 each year. Here at Nevada Hunting Services this is our favorite big game hunt. We offer the opportunity to pursue giant bears with the traditional hunting method of hounds. Our passion for this hunt, and for the hounds who make it possible, is second to none.
Mountain Lion Hunts
Typically done during the winter months from November through March, although hunting opportunities for lions occur year-round. Here at Nevada Hunting Services we love lion hunting almost as much as we love bear hunting. With liberal seasons, and Nevada’s only over-the-counter tag, mountain lions offer a wonderful opportunity to hunt in Nevada each year. Similar to bear hunts, these can be very physically demanding pursuits, oftentimes in sub-freezing temperatures and inclement weather.
While most of Clients’ cats meet the Nevada Wildlife Record Book minimum 13 8/16”, we’ve helped our Clients take several large toms over 14”, including a couple that make the Boone and Crockett All Time of 15-inches.
Antelope hunts start in August and run into early October. These hunts include long, warm days with spectacular views, punctuated by painted sunsets in the high deserts of Nevada.
Mule Deer Hunts
Mule deer hunts begin in August and run through the end of December.
Elk hunts run from late August through November, with the rut occurring in mid to late September.
Bighorn Sheep Hunts
Nevada is home to more bighorn sheep than any other state in the lower 48. With three subspecies of bighorn sheep – including Rocky Mountain Bighorn, Nelson (Desert) Bighorn, and California Bighorn – we can help you fill your tag on one of our State’s most coveted big game animals.
