In 2009 I did a vessel-based mountain goat hunt with Otto out of Valdez, Alaska. They did a very nice job with organization and have an excellent staff that is very knowledgeable and work very hard for you.

To be able to handle this archery mountain goat hunt, gun or bow, a person needs to be in excellent physical condition, because once a good goat is spotted, you will be starting out at sea level. The Chugach Mountain Range in Alaska, which I have hunted twice, is steeper and more rugged than anything I have experienced in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, or Colorado. Mountain goat hunts may be the most difficult you can do but also may be the most rewarding.

I’ve been on a lot of hunts over the past years, and can honestly say this one of my best trips to date! With animals in every direction, the hardest decision was figuring out which Goat we were going after. That is a true rarity these days. I can’t wait to go back to hunt with this outfit!
