GEAR REVIEW: Survival Slingshot
I recently tried the Survival Sling Shot and was impressed with it’s construction, and power. As they say… this is not a toy. Not only is it extremely well made, it comes with a crazy amount of accessories that allow this unit to be the most advanced sling shot I’m aware of. I am still getting my accuracy down but I can easily see that it has all the power necessary to take down a squirrel or a grouse. They have this cool design feature where extra shots are contained in the handle, that is also waterproof storage area. It’s very handy to have the “bullets” always loaded which is a problem with all the others.
The largest value point in this design, to me, is the durability and quality of construction. It was fun packing it along on a recent pack trip and letting my boys try it out as well. My youngest is 7 and he was able to at least pull it back hard enough to make a marble fly. It was too much for him but he still thought it was cool. I would see this being something that needed someone in their mid teens to be able to use it effectively.
If you were looking for a high tech, well made, “man” sling shot. This is the one. I think the base model is well worth the $50 and with their differing band weight options it has something for everyone.
