Colorado Elk Hunting Lodge
This is a great Colorado elk hunting lodge for large groups or corporate hunts.
Within a stone’s throw of Steamboat Springs, Colorado lies more than 12,000 acres of pristine elk habitat on private land.
This area plays home to one of the largest elk herds in all of North America. This Colorado elk hunting lodge caters to your weapon of choice and hunting is available throughout the general Colorado Elk Seasons.
The State of Colorado manages this herd for quantity, therefore the elk are plentiful and active. For that exact reasoning though, this is not typically clasified as a trophy hunt opportunity – rather a fun, exciting and rewarding elk hunting experience.
Most elk hunting is spot and stalk with multiple encounters for hunters on each trip out. On average guests can expect to harvest a nice 5×5 bull elk. We provide this as an average because some guests harvest smaller than 5×5 bulls and some guests harvest larger 6×6 bulls. Opportunities do exist for bigger bulls that are 300″ or bigger, but cannot be represented as an average. Maybe you will be the lucky one!
If you enjoy archery hunting, you will LOVE hunting with the guides at this Colorado elk hunting lodge. This is a fantastically fun hunt as the elk are numerous, active and in the rut. The action is endless and you will be in the elk, every day.
Excellent opportunities exist for the muzzleloading hunter as the elk are in the rut and receptive to calls.
1st Rifle Season:
All elk seasons are exceptional in this region, and none are necessarily better than the others; however, the 1st rifle season does present the first opportunity with a rifle and the elk have predominantly been un-pressured throughout the September archery season.
2nd Rifle Season:
During the second season we generally will start to have a little snow on the ground and the elk are relatively easy to find.
3rd Rifle Season:
During the third season we generally have snow on the ground and the elk have grouped up a little bit in anticipation of their winter migration.
This Colorado elk hunting lodge is located 20 minutes from Hayden’s Yampa Valley Regional Airport which has commercial service from many locations as well as the private air service storage for private jets.
For guests who harvest their elk early, a variety of ranch activities are available such as fly fishing, pond fishing, sporting clay range, upland bird hunting, horseback riding, and spa treatments. Some activities are implied in the package rate and others require additional charges. When making your reservations, please inquire for details.
