Mat Cervantes is an OI Hunting Consultant, Specializing in Europe
Mat Cervantes is a retired US Army First Sergeant who has traveled the world as an outdoorsman and soldier.
Born an “Army Brat” at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Mat grew up in the San Joaquin Valley of California shooting guns, hunting small game and fishing as a boy. Although he has always loved camping, fishing and wanted to hunt big game, hunting was not a tradition passed down within his family and had to be self-taught.
Due to his work and interests while living in Europe for 18 years, Mat joined the traditional European hunting scene. After attaining the German hunting, fishing and sport shooting licenses, Mat began teaching the hunting and fishing courses as the lead volunteer for the Bavarian Rod and Gun Club. His position and relationships with many influential European/American outdoorsman in the community and his European hunting experience ultimately led to him to be recruited by Wild Jaeger as their senior Pro Staff and ultimately to director of the WJ Hunting and Fishing Adventures.
Currently Mat has set his sights on new hunting and fishing adventures such as harvesting Ibex in Spain and Himalayan Tahr in New Zealand. More importantly, Mat hopes to pass on his love of hunting and fishing to his children.
Although Mat continues to hunt and fish the world and has hunted from the Scottish Highlands to the edges of the Kalahari Desert and the Austro-Bavarian Alps to the Hawaiian Islands, he currently lives and hunts on their 60 farm in the Ozarks of Missouri with his wife and one day hopes to build a hunting cabin on their 38 acres in Alaska.
Mat loves to share the International hunting experience with clients and hopes he can help you realize your dreams and bucket lists.
