The Illinois November rut is action packed and something whitetail hunters should experience at least once.
Whitetail hunting areas on this Southern Illinois property are separated with some being used for bowhunting and others during gun season. Hunters have the choice of hunting with a bow, crossbow, muzzleloader, or shotgun. They control over 7,000 acres between Franklin and Jefferson counties. These counties are 2 of the most successful counties in the state of Illinois and receive half the hunting pressure of other popular Illinois counties. The properties they manage are open hardwoods, thick swamp bottoms, CRP fields, food plots, and agricultural fields.
A 130 inch minimum is maintained on all of the bucks taken from this Southern Illinois property. Bucks that score below the minimum will result in a $500.00 fine and being barred from future hunts. They are very serious about Quality Deer Management. While whitetail hunting, hunters should see lots of bucks in the 135″ to 150″ range and they have many deer well in to the 160′s to 190′s. Hunters are provided with a first class whitetail hunting opportunity of a lifetime. Trail cams have been set up throughout the properties, and provide each hunter with the best opportunity at the buck of a lifetime.
