This was an unbelievable hunt! I had a great time. The mountain lion hunt consisted of driving road in a truck and on a snowmobile looking for tracks. We saw tracks each day. 1st day the track had been snowed in and was not too hot. The 2nd day the track was a female with a kitten, so we could not turn out. And the third day was the grand daddy of them all!
We turned out on a huge track and in sixteen minutes the dogs were barking treed. When we approached the tree, I could not believe my eyes. We had a monster of a cat. My mountain lion is the biggest cat killed in Idaho in the last 21 years. He is the new #2 record mountain lion in Idaho and ranked #10 all time Boone and Crockett.
This mountain lion hunting outfitter hunts along the Lochsa River in Northern Idaho. There is a very good mountain lion population in this area and he has had about 90% success on these Idaho mountain lion hunts over the years, and if you do not have an opportunity at a mountain lion they’ll bring you back the following year for only ½ price.
