Here’s Buzz’s deer in 2011 we found him after our late season was over (12/15/11) and he didn’t show back up at this stand until the fall of 2012 when the snow pushed him back down on to his wintering grounds. 12/1/13 was our first trail cam pic’s of him, shortly before Buzz showed up in camp. Buzz hunted the stand the first 2 days of his 6 day hunt, giving it a break for a day then went back to this stand on his 4th day, with the hopes of the snow storm that was coming in would get the animals moving.
We got a call at 12:30 from Buzz telling us that he had just hit a Good deer, with a little coy in his voice. Me and D.J. showed up after the hour wait that Buzz asked for, I started helping Buzz get out of the tree, as D.J. started to look for the Deer, when a loud yell came from D.J. only 50 yards from the stand just out of sight over a little ridge, bringing a Big smile to our faces knowing it was the deer we were hopping Buzz would harvest.”
Buzz with a great buck taken in the 2012 season his 3rd year in a row hunting with this Washington whitetail hunting outfitter in N.E. Washington state.
We look forward to his visit each year, he is a GREAT part of the camp, one who is respected by all, and a true pleasure to hunt with.
This hunt is cold so having the right gear is important!
We are big believers in the Kryptek layering system. Kryptek is high quality gear that performs in the field for a reasonable price.
For this hunt, I would highly suggest the Kryptek Aegis Extreme Weather Jacket and Bibs; Cadog Jacket and Pants; the Kratos Jacket; the Cerdic Hoodie; Merino Wool tops and Bottoms; and either the Balaclava, Beanie or better yet, both.
