Huge Idaho Mule Deer Found Dead

My neighbor found this huge buck on a local duck club here in Hagerman, Idaho. I don’t know what buck scores yet, but he is a monster for sure. Four other bucks were found dead in the same area. It is assumed that they are mountain lion kills. When I find out what he scores, I’ll let ya’all know. In the mean time, shoot straight. ‘Tis the season.

This is both amazing and sad at the same time. My goodness I didn’t know Idaho had bucks that big! That is a freakin’ massive buck.

Those are some inspiring antlers. Having four other bucks found dead in the same area would make me curious. I’d be hanging a trail camera in the vicinity.

Yeah, I agree. It is a bit fishy that there are four other dead bucks. I’m curious to see how big they are.

Mountain lions (cougars) will naturally attack the last animal passing by on the trail. They do kill more bucks for that reason. Most people know that a buck will wait until the does and fawns go through to make sure it’s safe for him. I’ve got antlers from an 11-point buck that was killed by a cougar. I live back in secluded woods near a lake and heard the actual kill. We knew there was a big cat and had lost some calves, and had seen tracks. This cougar kills along a creek and several kills were found in a shallow stream of water. I’ve noticed that bobcats and cougar will check for game around salt blocks put out for cattle. Tom
