Over-the-Counter Dall Sheep hunting in the Alaska Range!
Dall sheep hunting can be challenging and this hunt is no exception, but we don’t know of any other dall sheep hunt where you can sleep in a warm cabin.
This Outfitter offers two types of Dall sheep hunting. One is a trophy hunt in the Chugach Mountains draw area, but if you don’t want to wait out the draw & want to get your ram NOW, then we can arrange a quality over-the-counter dall sheep hunt in the Alaska Range.
Lots of Dall sheep, over-the-counter tags, great guides, PLUS comfortable cabins at base camp. Very cool hunt.” ~Marc Warnke
August through September
Spot and stalk. Expect to cover lots of miles on foot and do a bunch of glassing to find the ram you are looking for.
Success Rates and Trophy Quality
The Chugach Mountains hunt will give you the chance for a trophy, mature ram that breaks the 40″ mark. The rams in the Alaska Range Base Camp Hunt are not slouches and average 36″-39″. Success rates are high for both hunts. Being in adequate shape is often the difference in your success.
“This is an awesome area in the Western Alaska Range that is on an exclusive concession conducted on native lands. I think it is the only Sheep hunt on the planet where a guy can hunt sheep & return to warm cabins & hot meals nightly without ever sleeping on the ground!”
This Dall sheep hunt can be combined with moose, grizzly bear and wolf.
Most hunters fly to Valdez, Alaska where the outfitter will pick you up. Then you will drive a remote cabin in an exclusive guide area. Competing hunter pressure is not a problem.
Accommodations Set This Hunt Apart:
Hunt out of a remote lodge that gives you easy access to the hunting area and a comfortable place to come back to after your hunt. You will appreciate this. I promise.
You won’t be eating Mountain House on this Dall sheep hunt. Expect warm, home-style meals at base camp.
