Colorado Deer Hunting on the Eastern Plains
This 11,000 acre Eastern Plains Colorado deer hunting ranch in Unit 128 is managed for quality archery mule deer hunting, although they do allow just a few rifle hunters here some years. There are some INCREDIBLE whitetail bucks roaming this property as well. Your tag is good for either a mule deer or a whitetail.
The Walsenburg Ranch is located in Southeastern Colorado Eastern plains in rim rock canyon country, with river bottoms. At 6,000 feet this is a low elevation bowhunt in a semi arid region. Expect to see quality mule deer on this bowhunt that will score from 150″ up to 180″ P&Y. Get more information »
I have hunted multiple times with this outfitter and he is the real deal. A few years ago I took a 207″ P&Y muley with my bow while bowhunting with him. He is only taking 4 bowhunters total per year on this hunt. Expect to see some good deer.” ~Marc Warnke
*All Colorado deer hunting tags are by application only, you must have hunters education card if born after January 1, 1949, NO EXCEPTIONS. We will help you with the application process.

You will have a 100% opportunity rate for a good buck on this deer hunt. Success depends on your shooting ability and trophy standards.
Trophy quality on these Colorado deer hunts is VERY good. Hunters can expect to see 150″ class mule deer bucks, with the potential to see bucks up to 180″. In 2010, a set of whitetail sheds scoring 180″ was found on this ranch.
Once you arrive at the ranch, the outfitter will provide all travel during the hunt.
