Walrus Hunting

Walrus Hunts

There are two subspecies of walrus, the Atlantic warus and the Pacific walrus.

Walrus hunts are usually done out of Inuit communities with the use of motorized boats to transport you to the walrus hunting areas. Once walrus are spotted, they are stalked while resting on ice floes or small rocky islands. Shots are usually within 40 yards and a brain shot, or neck shot for instant kill is recommended. The success rate on walrus hunts is usually 100 percent with most outfitters.
