Tahr Hunts

The tahr or Himalayan mountain goat lived exclusively in the central Southern Alps until being introduced to New Zealand between 1904 and 1909.

If there is any animal that can be truly awe inspiring in the mountains of New Zealand, it is the Himalayan tahr. Many hunters pursue the Capra World Slam which requires 12 different species (subspecies) of goats, capra and tahr.
