Representing Hunters with Proven Hunting Outfitters

While a lot of us were still recovering from the holiday hustle and bussel Cory Glauner, Marc Warnke and Trevor Brittingham of Outdoors International are in South Texas on a Whitetail Deer Hunt for some fun as well as testing their Kryptek Gear in some different country. The first morning proved to be a rather [...]

Early Season Elk Hunt: Enjoy this Early season archery elk hunt hunt sequence where Outdoors International’s Marc Warnke works in on a bull elk in the Rocky Mountains with his bow in hand. Marc and his cameraman, Trevor Brittingham started two hours before light climbing almost two thousand feet in elevation to get to the [...]

In western Mongolia, an ancient tradition of Hunting Wolves with Eagles is still alive. We know from history that Genghis Khan had 1,000 hunting birds – eagles, falcons and gyrfalcons – and so did Kubla Khan. There were protected areas in the steppe marked with stones where only the khans were allowed to hunt. The [...]

This photo was supposedly taken on a cell phone last week after the guy took his friend bowhunter to Bass Pro Shop to buy his first bow. The clerk was ‘assisting’ him in zeroing it in, and, after shooting several arrows, making adjustments etc., the clerk accidentally handed him an arrow that was too short. [...]

One of our hunters just got back from another successful wilderness, horseback mountain lion hunt. Conditions were rough because there was no snow. They rode lots of miles on the horses, but never could cut a fresh track on the dry ground. They found a lot of kills, but they were mostly wolf kills. Wolves [...]

Hog hunting in Utah you ask? Well, kind of… For the past few years we have gone camping with my wife’s family in Utah during Easter weekend. Our traditional Easter camping spot is about a mile or so away from a big ranch loaded with exotic game including Russian Boar and I’m intrigued every time [...]

Three or four elk hunting seasons ago, I guided Dave Brucken and Dr. Rance Gamblin on an Idaho archery elk hunt. Dave works for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and wrote a story about our little adventure that was later published in their Bugle Magazine. He and I have stayed in touch and he has [...]

This story originally came from Camofire. If anybody has more information, be sure to let us know. Supposedly some hound hunters ran this lion near Garden Valley a few weeks ago. They heard a big fight going on and by the time they got there, the mountain lion was treed over a dead wolf. Pretty [...]

Our Alaska Mountain Goat Hunting Outfitter sent us his year end Alaska Mountain Goat Hunt Report: Hi All, The Alaska goat hunting season is over and was 100% success. We had hunters from Italy, Hungary, and Norway. (By way of Texas) This year was very smooth and all of the goats were scouted and patterned [...]

A Sonora Mexico Coues Deer Hunt by David Pereda It couldn’t possibly get any hotter. The heat seemed to radiate like an oven off of the black pile of volcanic rock we were glassing from and sweat was running nonstop into my eyes. My optics tripod even felt hot enough to light a cigarette from. [...]

It started as just a regular Idaho black bear hunt and it became an obsession. I was guiding bear hunters in Idaho’s Sawtooth Mountains and a group of hunters from Wisconsin had sent us some trail cameras. We had six well-established baits spread over our hunting area and they were already getting hit hard even [...]

There are several things to consider when you are booking your first trip to South Africa. I’ll start with the one of the misconceptions that I come across all the time when working with clients. Ninety-nine percent of South Africa hunting is behind high-fence. For many hunters, including myself, Africa is their first high-fence hunting [...]

It’s that time of year to get out in the woods for some turkey hunting. While most turkey hunters don’t really ever score their bird, there is a method if you’re interested. I found this post by Cole Daniels over at FormostHunting.com and I thought that it was good enough to repost here… so if [...]

Here is a report just in from one of our Outfitter Partners in Alaska. They’re Spring 2010 Alaska Brown Bear Hunting season was a complete success. By the way, we still have a few brown bear spots available for Spring 2011 and a few grizzly bear spots. If you’re interested, you better hurry because these [...]

A century ago Africa had just 6,000 elephants left. Now there are 600,000, and some say they are a pest – which is why the guns are out. CEO of webhosting giant GoDaddy released a controversial YouTube video last month of him hunting elephants in Zimbabwe, Africa. Our own Marc Warnke was interviewed by The [...]

by Dick Henry Many critics of antler restriction are quick to dismiss the program as a gimmick or another “flavor of the month” for deer management. However this notion ignores the basic breeding ecology of deer and the impacts that can affect a white-tailed deer herd when that ecology is compromised. Animal husbandry is in [...]

A hunter shot this man eating crocodile in Africa. When they were cleaning him, they found a partially digested person inside. To crocs, we were just part of the food chain. Crocodile hunters often discover bracelets, bits of jewelry and human remains. The most deadly existing reptile, the crocodile has always been on the “Man’s [...]

It’s a little known fact that over the counter tags are available in Arizona for many species. You can make plans to experience Arizona’s great hunting much sooner than you think by taking advantage of the great over the counter hunts. Bowhunters can take advantage of a long season that runs from mid December through [...]

Most hunters are well aware of the world class deer and elk hunting found in Arizona but very few hunters realize that Arizona is home to a great population of record book size black bear. Arizona black bears tend to run slightly smaller in body size than their northern counterparts but what they may lack [...]

Antelope are very intuitive animals. Anything can spark their interest and they will come and check it out. Antelope are also very territorial, probably one of the most territorial animals I know of. Antelope can see very well at long distances. Their eyes are like binoculars, but I believe they can not see that well [...]

Well I am back home after some incredible Tahr hunting in New Zealand. Certainly Tahr hunting is one of the toughest things you will ever do, but there is something about it that draws you in, and one thing is for sure; you will go back and do it again, as I will. I chose to hunt public land (Department of Conservation or DoC) as this is a much cheaper option than a private land hunt, albeit the tougher option… [Read the rest...]

by David Pereda You can’t kill what you can’t see. Period. It’s not going to happen. Let’s take a look at my personal battery of hunting optics and tripods and why I choose them for Western Big Game Hunting. Swarovski hunting optics are number one on my list for binoculars for big game hunting. From [...]

This huge new state record California Bighorn sheep was taken by Brad Visser this fall in Southwestern Idaho. It will shatter the current Idaho state record for California bighorn sheep. The California bighorn sheep Ovis canadensis californiana is considerably smaller than the Rocky Mountain bighorn, with rams of the same age weighing as much as [...]

from Field and Stream Alex Wypyszinski, a retired professor and amateur photographer, shot this amazing series of photos of a grizzly bear chasing down an injured bison when he stopped to take photos of geysers in Yellowstone National Park in May. He works in the contract post office at Old Faithful in the park and [...]

Last spring, one of our Outfitter Partners put trail cameras on their bear baits. They had six baits out and there were cameras on all six. It was kind of like Christmas every day because they would upload the new pictures every morning. It was a lot of fun watching the different bears. We tried [...]

I have been chasing mulies for years, and this hunt is a phenomenal find. It is a first-rate, high-quality experience any way you look at it. I will be going back. I hunted mule deer this past August during an early-season velvet hunt and took a mule deer buck that green scored close to 200 B&C, and I saw but could not get on a buck that would have scored another 15 to 20. That buck was higher, wider and had a 14-inch sword point on one side of his rack. I lost him after an all-morning stalk in the timber. Fifteen minutes later, I spotted the buck I eventually killed. I also saw a third buck that was larger still. In total, I saw 15 bucks in a day and a half. An incredible hunt! [Read the rest...]

I know some will disagree but I believe that the largest challenge available to a bow hunter is killing a trophy mule deer. So withstanding nay-sayers claims of successful harvest of fleas, flying mergansers, or whatever else you can come up with, I’ll tell you why I feel a trophy mule deer is the ONE. [...]

Cody R. returned from fighting for us over-seas and got this humongous mountain lion while hunting with one of our outfitter partners. They weren’t able to get the cougar to a scale as they were in the back country, but estimated him close to 200 pounds. Amazingly, he had a small head and didn’t make [...]

Big Game species found in Arizona Hunting Unit 12 A East: Mule Deer Merriam’s Turkey Mountain Lion Arizona Unit 12A-East Mule Deer Hunting: The Kaibab Plateau, is home to some of the best trophy mule deer hunting not only in the state of Arizona but one of the best mule deer hunts anywhere. Hunters lucky [...]

by Marc Warnke As seen in the July/August 2007 issue of the Mule Deer Foundation Magazine I am a committed bowhunter and during last year’s Alberta moose hunt with my good friend Mike White, I saw some gagger muleys that I just couldn’t keep out of my mind. Mike owns Legend Outfitting and I’ve been [...]

by Tony Arpaia One again I found myself in Alaska hunting with Outdoors International Approved Outfitter, Otto Kulm of PM Guide Service. Sitka Blacktail deer was the sought after main course species on this trip with an option of black bear and sea ducks available as desert. I have hunted with Otto in the past [...]

Saskatchewan Canada Black Bear Hunt » I just wanted to send you an e-mail thanking you for another successful Saskatchewan bear hunt. I am very pleased with the black bear I killed with you again this year. My buddy Cecil and I were extremely pleased when his bear skull measured large enough to be entered [...]

Sworovski 15×56 SLC binoculars at an unbelievable price. My good friend is selling these binos and if I didn’t already have a pair I would buy them myself. THIS IS A SMOKING DEAL! Without question Swarovski binoculars are the favorite high-end brand in North America. For years Swarovski has led the way in innovation of [...]

Marco Polo hunting is, to me the pinnacle of sheep hunting. This short Outfitter Report is from our Kyrgyzstan outfitter. He has had a very successful season so far for Ibex, Marco Polo sheep, and Russian Brown Bear hunts in Kamchatka. He also guides incredible fishing trips in Russia during the summer. Another one my [...]

Alaska brown bear hunting can be very dangerous. This hunt gets super dicey when the brown bear charges the hunter and his guide. “At 20-25 yards I could finally see the charging brown bear clearly, mouth open, teeth exposed,…. the Outfitter yelled, “Shooooootttt” and I shouldered my 7mag and pulled the trigger, “Crack” went the centerfire, I loaded again and pulled the trigger again, the 7 mag barked again and his forward progress was slowed quite a bit….” [Read the rest...]

by Burlington Free Press The six-day Vermont moose hunting season, which ended Thursday, produced a rarity: an albino moose. The moose weighed in at 744 pounds. The hunters reportedly did not want to be identified. Cedric Alexander, moose project leader for the state Fish and Wildlife Department, did not see the albino moose in person, [...]

It took five years to do it, but the state of North Carolina finally confirmed Billy Walkowiak’s 2004 black bear as the 17th largest ever taken in the state. Billy’s North Carolina bear had an official weight of 647 pounds and was estimated to be nine years, nine months old. The record bruin was shot [...]

Sometimes we have experiences that teach us hard lessons, and sometimes we have lessons that try and teach us hard lessons, but just leave us confused, yet thrilled to have been in the chase. Saturday was an experience of the latter kind for me. Bowhunting for mule deer is hard. As the sun began to push [...]

by African Indaba While legal rhino hunting does exist in some parts of Africa, poaching is still rampant in many areas. A recent flurry of blogs, webpostings and newspaper reports focused on the worsening rhino crisis in Southern Africa. On August 18th a male white rhino was killed by poachers in the iMfolozi Game Reserve [...]

September is right around the corner and that means dove hunting all across the country will be opening. Be sure to spend a little bit of time scouting just prior to opening day to find roosts, feeding fields and waterholes. Places that are holding doves late in August should still produce birds in early September. [...]

from IdahoStatesman.com A federal judge ruled Thursday against the Obama administration and returned wolves in the Rocky Mountains to the Endangered Species List. That means that hunting seasons in Idaho and Montana will not be allowed to continue. U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy said leaving wolves listed as endangered in Wyoming while delisting them in [...]

Every year my father, uncle, brother and I get together for a week of non-stop bowhunting in either Colorado, for elk, or North Dakota, for whitetail. This year is like no other, as everyone had a tough year financially and we decided we’ll have to wait until next year to get together. My uncle’s son, [...]

Very few hunting destinations can offer the quality mule deer, coues deer, and desert bighorn sheep hunting found in Old Mexico, specifically the state of Sonora. Many bucks and rams grow old and die here without ever having set eyes on a human being much less having a bullet fired at them. Opportunities for world [...]

A lucky hunter with the one coveted non-resident tag in Montana ‘s Missouri River Breaks harvested possibly the largest ram ever taken in the United States last season! The ram green scored 205 with both horns stretching to 44 1/2″ with over 16″ bases and carries the mass throughout the horn length. The ram will [...]

"What a great place to spend time antelope hunting. The only thing better than the country is the people. You will love Craig and his family. They are salt of the earth folks. Game was abundant and trophies are there for the taking. I was fortunate enough to take a trophy buck on the evening hunt of my first day.
Craig is a special outfitter. You will leave Nebraska with a new friend should you decide to book with him. In a world where hunting has become an industry filled with businessmen whose goal is the almighty dollar, Craig is a breath of fresh air.
Don't wait, book now...he will be getting more and more busy as word gets out. I know I will be back."
