Idaho Hound, Bait and/or Spot and Stalk Bear Hunt

Hunt Description

Our bear hunting is unique for many reasons. One of which being the ability to hunt bears by three modalities. We can hunt over bait, spot and stalk, or with hounds. Our houndsman has the same passion for hunting bears as he does for hunting mountain lions with his hounds. He spends countless hours in the field with his dogs treeing bears in the spring and in the fall. Another Unique feature, a very high percentage of our bears are color phase with common colors being brown, chocolate, red and blonde. If you have been looking for that colored black bear, you have found the right place. Bear tags are “buy over the counter” and the options for dates and hunts are vast. Bear hunts can be scheduled for the spring or the fall and work great as combo hunts with deer or elk.

These hunt are conducted on the Targhee National Forest, we will run hounds in the morning and hunt over bait in the evening. High percentage success rate and color phase. A fun hunt is combining this hunt with and archery elk hunt.
