South Dakota – Pheasant Hunting – Wild Birds
South Dakota is a pheasant hunting paradise with literally thousands of acres to hunt, and unbelievable numbers of wild pheasants, we are confident you will have a great pheasant hunting trip and see more wild birds than anywhere else. Our outfitters offer Self Guided, Fully Guided and Sleep Only pheasant hunts for wild South Dakota pheasants.
Self-Guided Hunts – $350 per hunter per day (minimum 4 hunters)
Located in Hosmer, South Dakota, this farm consists of thousands of private acres of cropland, tree rows, wetland sloughs and plush grasslands. The land is farmed for agricultural purposes, but the habitat is managed to attract wild pheasant, hungarian partridge and sharptail grouse.
Lodging is included in your self-guided pheasant hunting package. You will stay in a house in town. It’s nothing fancy, and it’s, but it’s clean. Walking distance to the restaurant and the bar and within easy driving distance to all hunting areas. The focus of this outfitter is to get you on a bunch of wild pheasants and they strive to make you feel right at home. Bird cleaning, packaging and freezing is also available at $5.00 per bird.
This hunt does not include meals, Hunting License, shotgun/shells, clothing and equipment.
Sleep Only Package – $350 per day per group (no hunting access)
Do you want to hunt South Dakota but you want to hunt on your own without a guide? We’ve got the answer. Stay and hunt pheasants out of a “mini-lodge” in Hitchcock, South Dakota. No frills, just a clean place to hang your hat at night. The hunting is up to you.
Located in southern Spink county with several public hunting areas close by. (State land maps available)
- Four full size beds, Pillow top mattresses, custom made extra tall full over full bunks. Linens and pillows provided.
- Full kitchen with everything needed to cook serve and eat, just bring your own groceries.
- Full bath with walk in shower, washer/dryer, dog friendly, bird cleaning area, fridge/freezer for your use.
- Deposit required (party will be responsible for clean up and items in lodge)

Fully-Guided Hunts – $350 per hunter per day (minimum 4 hunters)
Mornings start at the local diner for breakfast, and from there you’ll go pheasant hunting. A guide will assist you. If you don’t have our limit of pheasants by noon, they’ll have a sack lunch in the field and hunt until you’re done.
Once you’re finished hunting, you’ll head back to the bunkhouse for the evening while your guide takes your birds to the bird cleaner where they will be cleaned, packaged and frozen for you. You are welcome to watch satellite TV, head over to the bar and have some drinks or just relax, B.S. and have a good time. Dinner will again be at the local diner where you will enjoy the home town atmosphere.
